What an export kenteken costs: packages, extras and when the price is higher

Our prices are starting prices, including VAT where applicable. What you pay depends on the vehicle, the route, the time and whether you come to the desk or use the post. Before we start, you always receive the price for your own vehicle.

What each export plates package includes
- Export document, from €50. The export deregistration with the kentekenbewijs deel II (the Dutch export certificate), the vrijwaringsbewijs (the proof that the Dutch registration has ended) and the RDW processing. This suits a vehicle that leaves on a trailer or transporter.
- Export insurance with white plates, from €100. 14 days of third-party cover, a Green Card and the white export plates (two for a car), without our export document.
- Complete package, from €150. Export document, proof of deregistration, 14 days of cover, Green Card and white plates: the usual choice when you drive the vehicle abroad yourself.

How our prices work
- Desk prices are starting prices (the BPM refund service has a fixed fee), including VAT where applicable, and apply during office hours: Monday to Saturday 10:00 to 16:30.
- On Sundays we are open by appointment at a higher rate: call or WhatsApp first for the final price. A surcharge may apply outside office hours.
- The additional rates are guide prices. A written price confirmation for your vehicle, route, start date and shipping always takes precedence.
- You always know the price in advance. You can pay in cash or by bank transfer.
When the price of export plates is higher
- Outside office hours. Our desk is open Monday to Saturday from 10:00 to 16:30. Outside those hours we work by appointment, 24 hours a day, and a surcharge can apply.
- On Sundays. Open by appointment at a higher rate; always call or message first for the final price.
- By post. Sending documents and plates adds to the price.
- Heavy or unusual vehicles. A motorhome, van or lorry above 2,500 kg is priced on request, as higher insurance and processing costs can apply.
- Foreign documents. A vehicle with foreign documents is priced on request, only after we have checked the documents and the risk.
Costs of the postal export service
The export document by post costs €120 with a standard insured DHL shipment (around 5 working days) or €150 with DHL Express (around 1 working day). The rate is the same for the Netherlands and abroad. Insurance and plates by post add €150, and the complete package by post comes to around €270 to €300, depending on standard or express. The complete package with online preparation and the plate exchange at our desk costs €200.
Rates for caravans, trailers and other export services
The caravan package starts from €220. A trailer or semi-trailer is custom work: €250 at the desk or €280 express, with the insurance on the chassis number and a solution for the towing vehicle. We always assess the situation beforehand. Extending the export insurance costs from €120 per 14 days, after the insurer agrees. The EX-A customs declaration for export outside the EU starts from €150, and our BPM refund service has a fixed fee of €149, export document not included. The rate card also lists extras such as one-day cover for a permitted one-day trip (€75), an APK service (€100) and roadside assistance on selected routes (€150 per day), each with conditions checked in advance.

You pay in cash at the desk or by bank transfer. Export kenteken costs: what customers ask
Is the RDW processing included in the price?
Yes. The export document, from €50, includes the export certificate (kentekenbewijs deel II), the proof of deregistration and the RDW processing.
Why does sending by post cost more?
Because the documents and plates travel insured and with tracking: DHL standard takes around 5 working days, DHL Express around 1 working day. The rate is the same for addresses in the Netherlands and abroad.
Is it more expensive on a Sunday?
Yes. On Sundays we open by appointment at a higher rate. Call or send a WhatsApp message first to hear the final price.
What does the export of a caravan cost?
The caravan package starts from €220, depending on weight, route, documents and the cover needed. We look at the situation first and confirm the price beforehand.
Which payment methods do you accept for export plates?
In cash at the desk or by bank transfer. For an insurance extension, you pay by bank transfer once the insurer has agreed and we have confirmed the price.
