Selling a high-mileage, diesel or damaged car through our export network
Leaving the Netherlands, or selling a car with high mileage, a diesel engine or damage? Send us the details and photos. We pass them to our network of car dealers abroad, and if one makes an offer, you decide. Asking costs nothing and commits you to nothing.
- Free and without obligation
- Cars built in 2008 or later
- Export papers arranged in Hengelo
Selling to the export trade is an option for many cars: think of one with more than 200,000 km on the clock, a diesel, an ex-lease car, a company van or a car with damage. If you live in the Netherlands and are about to move, or simply want to sell such a car, our network of car dealers abroad may be interested.
We do not buy cars ourselves. We act as the go-between and arrange the export papers once you accept an offer.
High-mileage, diesel and damaged cars we pass on for export
We pass on cars built in 2008 or later, for example:
- cars with a mileage above 200,000 km;
- diesel cars;
- ex-lease cars;
- company vans;
- cars with damage.
Not sure whether your car fits? Send the details anyway and we will tell you.
The cars our export partners are looking for
- Mileage above 200,000 km
- Diesel cars
- Ex-lease cars
- Company vans
- Damaged cars
- Built in 2008 or later
Free and without obligation: requesting an offer costs you nothing
How it works
- You send us the details and photos of your car, via the form or WhatsApp.
- We pass your car's details on to our network of car dealers abroad. They may make an offer.
- If an offer comes in, we forward it to you. You decide whether to sell.
- Agreed? The export transfer can take place at our desk in Hengelo: you receive the vrijwaringsbewijs (proof of deregistration), the buyer receives the export documents and, if needed, export insurance and two white plates.
We act as an intermediary; the offer comes from a car dealer abroad. There is no guarantee of an offer.
From photos to offer: the four steps of an export sale
- You send the details. The registration number, make and model, year of manufacture, mileage, fuel, condition and any damage, plus photos. Use the form below or WhatsApp.
- We pass the car on. We put the details in front of our network of car dealers abroad. They may make an offer.
- You decide. We pass any offer on to you. Accepting it is your decision alone.
- The export papers. If you accept, the transfer for export can take place at our desk in Hengelo.
We give no time frame for offers, and there is no certainty that one will come. An offer is not binding for you: asking is without obligation, so you can turn it down at no cost.
Details and photos for the export dealers
Complete details help a dealer abroad to judge the car. Send:
- the registration number, make and model;
- the year of manufacture and the mileage;
- the fuel type;
- the condition, including any damage;
- photos of the car, including the damage.
The form below has no upload field, so use the WhatsApp button for photos and documents next to it, or send them by e-mail.
What happens when you accept an offer for your car
The car is not transferred to the foreign buyer in the Dutch register. Instead, the buyer exports it in their own name, which is what the RDW (the Dutch vehicle authority) advises. You, as the seller, receive the vrijwaringsbewijs: the proof that the Dutch registration has ended. The buyer receives the export documents they need and, if they drive the car to its destination, export insurance and two white export plates.
How these papers work, and why the export should be in the buyer's name, is explained in our guide to the Dutch export certificate and deregistration. For the buyer's side of the process, see buying a car in the Netherlands.
Export papers after the sale: who pays
Asking for an offer is free and without obligation for you. The buyer pays for the export papers and, if needed, for the insurance and plates. We arrange those papers as an RDW-recognised export company. With complete papers, a standard export at the desk in Hengelo is usually ready in about 15 minutes.
Moving abroad: sell the car or take it with you
If you are leaving the Netherlands and would rather not take your car, you can ask for an offer before you go. Decide to take it with you after all? Then we arrange the export papers and white plates for your own journey; see how to apply for Dutch export plates.
What we do not do when you sell your car
To avoid misunderstandings:
- we do not buy the car ourselves; offers come from dealers in our network;
- we do not value the car or name a price in advance;
- we do not promise that an offer will come.

Questions sellers ask about our export network
Who actually makes the offer for my car?
A car dealer in our network abroad, not us. We do not buy cars ourselves: we pass your car on to that network and arrange the export papers.
Is an offer certain once I send the details?
No, we cannot promise that a dealer makes an offer. If an offer comes in, we pass it on to you and you decide.
Do I pay anything for asking for an offer?
Nothing. Asking for an offer is free and without obligation. The buyer pays for the export papers and, if needed, the insurance and white plates.
Is my car too old to send in?
We work with vehicles built in 2008 or later. Send the registration number and the year of manufacture, and we will tell you whether we can pass it on.
What happens to my Dutch registration after the sale?
When the export is arranged at our desk in Hengelo, you receive the vrijwaringsbewijs, the proof that the Dutch registration has ended. The buyer receives the export documents.
